Wickham Co-op Community Party 28-Apr-2012
Meon Valley Lions Club has been successful in its application to secure financial support from The Southern Co-operative as part of their Community Support Card scheme. The scheme works when shoppers at the Co-operative Food store present the Community Card each time they make a purchase. The Co-op then makes a charitable contribution against every purchase, which this year will benefit both the Meon Valley Lions Club and the1st Wickham Scouts Group. The aim is to raise as much as possible over the next twelve months period when the scheme will run. Lions are looking to use the proceeds to improve the minibus service in the Meon Valley Area, and specifically Wickham where we do regular trips for pensioners and lunch groups. Community cards are now available, so pick one up when you're next in the Wickham Co-op and you can support the Lions and Scouts financially, every time you do some shopping.
To officially launch the Community Card programme The Co-op is hosting a Community fun-day for all the family at the Wickham Community Centre on Saturday 28 April, with music, dancing, displays, stalls and lots to eat and drink. Meon Valley Lions will be there of course, cooking a fabulous barbeque with all the yummy ingredients provided by the Co-op.
The fun starts at 11am. Please see the poster on the right for more details.
